Director of Retail
Are you a seasoned retail professional with a passion for hospitality? South Seas resort is seeking an experienced Director of Retail to lead our retail store outlets and ensure profitable retail operations. This position reports into the Director of Commercial Strategy and will supervisor more than 15 people.

Key Responsibilities:
- Starting with the opening and establishing of the Outfitters store, responsible for directing daily operations of multiple retail store outlets.
- Requires management of the retail outlet budget guidelines.
- In conjunction with the assistance of the Director of Commercial Strategies, set sales goals and marketing plan.
- Responsible for developing, recommending, implementing, and managing both long and short goals for associated managing areas.
- Ensures the retail staff provides and maintains the highest level of customer service.
- Directs training of staff and newly hired staff in accordance with resort guidelines in sales, cash register procedures, etc., to perform necessary requirements of multiple store operations.
- Manage performance and salary reviews for reporting staff, including handling disciplinary concerns and coaching and counseling.
- Oversees maintenance of equipment in the retail store outlets.
- Works closely with local, state, and government guidelines, ensuring all areas and reporting staff are meeting the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness of food preparation and food handling.
- Maintains thoroughness with stocking, pricing, promoting, merchandising and rotating of products to ensure profitability is achieved.
- Manage selections offered, purchasing, storing, inventorying, and usage of all supplies and equipment.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of all products.
- Follow guest trends, needs, issues, and comments to enhance marketing future sales.
- Participates, along with staff, in training exercises for performing to South Seas service standards.
- Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
Qualifications:
- Education: 4-year degree in marketing, hotel operations or related degree.
- Experience: Extensive experience required in store management, sales, and marketing.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality industry and managing multi outlets.
- Budget management experience for manpower and equipment allocation.
- Fluent in English; must hold a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
- Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of computer equipment or other technical devices
- Supervisor the activities of other hotel associates and/or provide service in which communication plays an important role.
- Requires compiling facts and figures in accordance with established procedures.
- Requires a working knowledge of retail merchandising and particular aspects of policies and procedures.
- Must possess highly developed communication skills.
- Requires the ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
- Must have leadership and motivational skills to effective lead staff.
- Supervisor 10-30 associates.
- Minimum travel is 10% annually.
- Minimum of 50 hours per week and may vary.
