Water Sports Manager

Position Summary:

The Water Sports Manager oversees the daily operations of all water sports and beachfront recreational activities. This role ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction while maintaining safety, equipment standards, and a fun, engaging environment. The manager is responsible for leading a dynamic team of attendants, coordinating activities, and optimizing program offerings to enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all water sports operations, including kayaking, paddleboarding, parasailing, jet skiing, and boat rentals.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise water sports team members.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, watercraft operation policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain all water sports equipment in good working condition; coordinate timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop and implement engaging programming and guest activities related to water recreation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provide exceptional guest service; resolve issues and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Track participation and revenue; assist with budget planning and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with marketing and guest services teams to promote water sports activities and events.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to watercraft and water safety.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in water sports, recreation, or hospitality management (preferably in a resort or beachfront setting).
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Knowledge of boating, marine safety, and water sports equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US Coast Guard Boating License or equivalent.
  • Experience managing boat fleets or PWC (Personal Watercraft).
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices related to marine operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to swim proficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be active outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable operating small watercraft and working in/around water for extended periods.
