Position Overview
The Captiva Landing Activities Supervisor is responsible to assist in overseeing the daily operations of the resort’s activities, pool areas, Camptiva and other special events and activities. This Supervisor role ensures that all recreational spaces are maintained to the highest standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences in assistance to the Recreation Manager. The Captiva Landing Activities Supervisor will provide direction to the team, coordinate daily activities, and ensure compliance with all safety policies and operational procedures. This role is perfect for a passionate and service-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic, guest-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of recreation attendants, ensuring excellent guest service and adherence to resort policies.
- Provide ongoing role-playing scenarios to enhance team members’ communication, problem-solving, and service skills.
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations for the day.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating team members to ensure alignment with resort standards.
- Assist with administrative duties like scheduling, ordering and monthly planning.
Daily Activity and Camp Operations
- Coordinate and lead scheduled resort activities such as games, crafts, holiday celebrations and themed events including glow parties, movie nights and karaoke.
- Develop, plan, and implement engaging and age-appropriate programming for Camptiva.
- Oversee and assist in the daily operations of the resort’s kids camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment.
- Ensure activity and camp areas are properly set up, organized, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with resort standards.
- Ensure activity and camp storage areas are clean, well-maintained and properly stocked.
- Maintain and communicate daily activity schedules to guests and staff.
- Monitor program effectiveness and make adjustments based on feedback and participation trends.
- Train, mentor, and supervise camp and activities staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality programming.
- Supervise camp counselors and ensure adherence to child safety protocols.
- Interact with children through structured programming, crafts, and outdoor play.
Staff Training & Development
- Train new and existing staff on activity procedures, camp programming, safety standards, and guest interaction techniques.
- Conduct regular refreshers and hands-on training for camp operations and activity facilitation.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching to ensure consistent delivery of resort standards.
Equipment Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain recreational equipment and supplies (e.g., games, craft materials, sound systems).
- Perform minor repairs and report larger maintenance needs to the appropriate team.
- Track inventory and request replenishments when necessary.
Guest Service & Team Leadership
- Provide outstanding guest service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Supervise activity staff and ensure team members deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Support special events as needed.
- Enforce resort rules and safety regulations, addressing guest inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
- Provide clear and engaging instructions to guests for all recreational programs, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
- Actively engage with guests to enhance their experience, respond to feedback, and resolve any concerns promptly.
- Maintain high visibility on the pool deck and in camp, assisting guests as needed and ensuring exceptional service.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Uphold all safety standards, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols in recreational areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of camp and activity equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, including guest participation, incidents, and equipment usage.
- Work closely with other departments alongside Recreation Manager, such as housekeeping, security, and guest services, to ensure seamless resort operations.
- Assist with seeking opportunities to enhance recreational offerings and elevate the guest experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in recreation, hospitality, or resort management preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Knowledge of water sports safety and beach/pool operations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Pay Rate: $25/hr, Full-time
Schedule: Flexible, may include weekend shifts
